One of the most beautiful spots in New Zealand, adored by locals and tourist alike, is the majestic lakeside township of Wanaka. This is where Broken Shed Vodka all began – and we are proud to call this our home.
The Home of Broken Shed Vodka
Located in the lower South Island of New Zealand, the township of Wanaka is situated in a glacier carved basin on the shores of the lake. Broken Shed Vodka is crafted in the area from distilled whey and a blend of waters from the Southern Alps.
New Zealand Southern Alps
Our unmatched clean finish comes from a 15,000-year-old aquifer buried deep within the Southern Alps of New Zealand. The water is rated the purest and finest in the world. Our proprietary recipe and filtration process creates a smooth and refined tasting vodka that we are very proud of.
From Lake Shores to Mountain Peaks
The South Island of New Zealand is known as a playground for pro skiers and snowboarders who come over on their off-season to enjoy the snow and take in the beautiful scenery.
Take To The Skies
Paragliding is one of the most exhilarating activities that locals and tourists (who are brave enough) do to take in the beauty of New Zealand.
The Land of the Sheep
As well as being home to some of the cleanest water on Earth, New Zealand is home to around 30 million sheep – that’s six sheep to every single person living in New Zealand.
Wanaka Lavender Farm
Enjoy the sweet aroma of Lavender? Wanaka Lavender Farm is just a few minutes out of town, where you can experience 10 acres of beautiful lavender fields and display gardens. Learn more here.
Broken Shed Vodka was first created in an old, bruised-up shed on the outskirts of Wanaka. And while the shed still exists today, it has graduated from a poor excuse for a vodka laboratory, to a facility for tastings and parties.
Wanaka's Lone Tree
Known as the “lone tree of lake Wanaka,” it is said to be one of the most photographed trees in all New Zealand. However, you still need to have the inside scoop to find it, as there are no signs directing people to the solitary tree. Learn more here.
Wanaka's Natural Beauty
With the natural beauty of Wanaka, it's no wonder people all over the world are drawn to exploring this little town; and the welcoming Kiwi hospitality is the icing on the cake.
A Naturally Clean & Smooth Spirit
The natural, clean and smooth taste of our vodka is a reflection of its natural and clean home.
Our Neighbors are Pretty Nice
A few hours drive from Wanaka is one of the most beautiful and idyllic locations on earth, the Milford Sound. Boat tours take tourists out to experience the dolphins, waterfalls and mountain peaks – so you can get up-close and personal with this beautiful part of the world.
The View from Above is Brilliant
Heading into Mount Aspiring National Park and towards the 'Glistening Peak' of Mount Aspiring, there is one of our favorite views of Lake Wanaka and its township.
You Can Taste the Freshness
Some of the purest water on Earth comes from our home, and we’ve bottled it into a smooth tasting vodka just for you. You’re welcome.
